My Approach to Therapy
Practicing psychology has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my life and I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with people to empower them, engender hope, rediscover happiness and work toward health and wellness. I am a big believer in balance; while I am trained in several evidence-based psychological treatments (see the Home tab), I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy and, instead, aim to balance providing effective, high-quality treatment with tailoring care to people's individual needs and circumstances. I adopt an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to best suit each person's specific situation. My approach to treatment is also a collaborative one and while I gladly provide my expertise and perspective, I aim to have patients fully informed and involved in the therapeutic process so that we can make decisions together and both work toward achieving therapeutic goals and progress.
Though guided by research and science, I believe that progress can best be achieved in the context of a trusting and strong therapeutic relationship. I am proud to say that I put my all into helping my patients and that I have been described as warm, honest, trustworthy and caring. It is critical that therapy takes place in a safe, non-judgmental space, balancing self-acceptance with growth and change.
